Fine art print on alu-dibond, 67×100 cm, 2017
Viktoriascope is part of the Proposals to project series, in which Schmid installs projection screens in public space and then documents them with photography or on film. The title of this photograph humorously refers to the early color film processes that often were named after their inventors. Viktoriascope is a cinematic format (4:1) freely invented by the artist, which plays with the norms and guidelines (such as aspect ratios and exposure standards) that the photographer and filmmaker is constantly confronted within her work.
